No triple-dip recession, but we've got a double-dip ale choice

Well today you were no-doubt thrilled that Chancellor George Osborne called the latest GDP figures "encouraging" and defended his austerity measures - yahhhnnnn!!

That might be a load of hot air, but we've got some genuine GOOD NEWS:

We've got 2 great ales this week:

Deliciously quaffable and light golden in colour, Belhaven IPA (Abv 3.8%) delivers refreshing floral hints and citrus tones, which combine to produce the unmistakable

clean, crisp flavour of this long awaited IPA... Well worth waiting for Mr Chancellor!

Caritas (Abv 4%) has a slight citrus taste and a fruity aroma. For every pint of Caritas that we drink, Greene King will donate 5p to Macmillan Cancer Support.

As if you need a another reason to drink good beer

This week we are enjoying Greene King's Limited Edition Ale 'Caritas'.

In Latin 'Caritas' means “charity”, which is apt as for every pint of Caritas that we drink, Greene King will donate 5p to Macmillan Cancer Support, with which the brewer formed a national partnership last year.

Caritas is a 4% ABV ale described as having a slight citrus taste and a fruity aroma.

We've also got our annual AGM tonight (Thursday - from 8pm), so get down here in good time to have your say on what we plan for 2013 and beyond

- and also DRINK LOTS - It's for Charity after all!

We'll also be open tomorrow (Friday) form 8pm.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Regarding our FAMILY FUN & GAMES Night, which was planned for Friday 26th April. We have decided to POSTPONE this, as there is now also a Charity fundraising event taking place in the Village Hall and the same night and we don't want to detract from people supporting that event. We will publish a re-scheduled date as soon as we can.

This week we've got another one of our favorite ales:

LONDON GLORY (4%) 

A celebratory ale created by the master brewers of Greene King for the nation's capital.

Centuries of expertise and craftsmanship have come together to produce this rich and fruity brew that combines crystal malt with challenger and goldings hops.

With ADNAMS LIGHTHOUSE too, DRAFT BECK'S VIER, DRAFT ASPALL CYDER

and 4 other bottled ciders + lots of other Wines, Spirits, Mixers Soft drinks and Snacks & Sweets behind the bar - we're stocked-up nicely for our THURSDAY BEER NIGHT from 8PM and our FAMILY FUN NIGHT on FRIDAY from 6.30PM.
