FISH & CHIPS FRIDAY - NOW WITH MORE FISH!
Last month at our first ever Fish & Chips night, we were absolutely gob-smacked by the turn-out and support from the village - so much so that we were left rather red-faced when we sold-out of fish within 30 minutes.
That won't be the case this month -
we've been promised that the van will have plenty for all!

So we look forward to seeing you all THIS FRIDAY NIGHT (9th May)
and why not come and eat them in the bar and enjoy a drink too.

Come and have your say
STOP PRESS... important.....
This years WrenSocial AGM will be at 8PM on Thursday April 10th and after 9 years of service to our Social Club and our village, our Chairman Kevin Feek will be stepping down from his chair. Kev will remain on the committee and will still be very much part of WrenSocial, but he feels that the time is right for someone else to steer the club as we continue to grow.
PLEASE ATTEND this special AGM and help thank Kev for everything that he has done and also have your say on the things that you want from your Social Club as we continue to plan and also agree who'll be our new Chairman and Committee Team for the year ahead.
Oh yes... There will be a FREE DRINK for all who attend.
Not that we need to bribe you!

FIRST FRIDAY is FAMILY Night
This week it's the first FRIDAY of the month, which means that it's our EARLY OPENING FRIDAY - perfect for families and great for the wallet as most Kids Soft Drinks are FREE on family night!
We'll be open from 6:30pm, so if you haven't see the facilities at your village social club yet - come along and have a look.
Norfolk Kiwi (3.8% ABV) was the first beer to be brewed by Jo C's Norfolk Ale. It's an easy-drinking session bitter, made using the finest locally-grown Maris Otter barley and wheat, giving it a golden straw colour.
This is blended with generous helpings of English and New Zealand hops to give it that unique Kiwi flavour and aroma.
We're open as usual on THURSDAY too from 8PM for our weekly BEER NIGHT.
We hope to see you.

Oh yes it's LADIES NIGHT!
What have we agreed to?
It's been the talk of the village for a month or so now, but finally our first LADIES NIGHT is this FRIDAY, from 8PM. Men may enter at their peril.
There will be knitting, sewing, crochet and lessons in how to keep your man happy! Not really - Goodness knows what will go on, but the bar is well stocked and we've even given the Margaret Preston room a fresh coat of paint especially for you (that's partly true!).
So come and let your hair down ladies - have natter and a giggle.
It's BEER NIGHT as usual on THURSDAY from 8PM.
This week our Guest Ale is Wadworth 6X (4.3% ABV).
Full bodied and distinctive, 6X remains one of the South's most famous beers. The beer is mid-brown in colour, malty and fruity with balancing hop character.

If you like your beer - don't miss this week!
Salopian Shropshire Gold
ABV: 3.8% Colour: Light Copper/GoldStyle: Golden, with a flora aroma and a full hoppy flavour that is balanced by a crisp dry maltiness and a rich finish
History: Shropshire Gold was first brewed in July 1998. Salopian had decided that a brew was needed that could compete with the session beers produced by National brewers and other local producers. They decided to make a beer that would have a rich gold colour to please the eye, a full rich flavour to make it appeal to those who preferred a stronger beer, and a pronounced hop character to please everyone! This concept obviously worked as sales have increased markedly year on year. Shropshire Gold now makes up over half the production of the brewery and is listed as the house beer in at least 40 local outlets, a testimony to a consistent product and a keen price.
See you on THURSDAY & FRIDAY from 8pm to enjoy this lovely beer.
Sorry Jez, Graham & Adge, who are still doing their Cancer Research #Dryathlon

Pie Night cometh
This week is one of our favourites: PIE NIGHT!
Don't miss it... FRIDAY from 7PM.
As always, simply bring along a pie to share, or make a donation for your meal.
This time we've got some LIVE MUSIC on the night too, with local band 'Tap the Barrel' entertaining us.
It's a FREE ENTRY event for all the family and we look forward to seeing you all.
We've got TWO great guest ales this week too:
BETTY STOGS 4.0% ABV
This beer has won more awards nationally and locally than any other Cornish beer and is without doubt the Queen of Cornish Ales - perhaps why it's one of Mark's favourites!?
SPITFIRE 4.2% ABV
Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale is the biggest ale success story of the last decade. Originally brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, its characteristically Kentish, hoppy flavour and risque advertising campaign has made it a firm favourite with beer lovers.
Winner of a gold medal and Best Strong Cask-Conditioned Beer of the World at the Brewing Industry International Awards, Spitfire Ale is now Shepherd Neame's biggest-selling cask conditioned ale.

Come & torture Graham & Jez
Social Club regulars Graham & Jez are currently torturing themselves by taking place in the January DryAthalon to help raise funds for Cancer Research.
They're just over 1 week in now, so are almost certainly going to need some moral encouragement in the way that only a Thursday 'caveman' night can deliver!
See you tonight chaps - we've still got that gorgeous Greene King Abbott ale that you both love so much!
We would normally have finished by now, but you two muppets are on soft drinks!!
Come prepared for lots of sympathy (not!)

We'll be open from 8PM on THURSDAY for our weekly beer night and as it's the FIRST FRIDAY of the month, we'll be open early on FRIDAY from 6.30PM for our monthly FAMILY FUN NIGHT.
We hope to see you.
