TRIBUTE (Enough said!)

It's Mark's birthday this week (and he orders the beer), so it's no surprise that we have got one of our favorite beers this week. Ladies and Gentlemen of Wreningham, I give you St Austell Brewery's 'Tribute'!

For WrenSocial regulars, we need say nothing more - but if you have been meaning to give the social club a look, this Thursday or Friday is the perfect week to drop in.

Here are a few facts about this pint of heaven in a glass:

A Supreme Champion Ale of Cornwall as voted by CAMRA, and the South West's Favourite cask beer (4.2%), Tribute is a popular favourite with locals and visitors to Cornwall, as well as being a much sought after brand throughout the rest of the UK. It is brewed using specially grown Cornish Gold Malt.

For foodies, Tribute is a perfect accompaniment to chicken, gammon or fish (WrenSocial note: We've got Pork Scratchings!) The ideal alternative to a fine white wine.

Roger Protz, Editor Good Beer Guide, wrote: "Tribute is a magnificent example of a bronze coloured English bitter, with a rich aroma of biscuity malt and tart citrus fruit from the Willamette hops. Juicy malt, hop resins and tangy fruit coat the tongue, while the finish is long and lingering, with a fine balance between malt, hops and fruit, finally becoming dry and bitter."
Awarded a Silver Medal at the Taste of the West Awards 2009
Winner of the SIBA South West awards 2007
Voted Supreme Champion Cornish Ale, CAMRA Falmouth Beer Festival 2004

It's gonna be Firkin' Freezin' Tonight!

No really - it is. We've got a Salopian Brewery special as our guest ale this week and it's called Firkin' Freezin'.

ABV: 4.1%

Colour: Light Copper

Style: Salopian's best selling festive ale. A distinctive & light copper coloured ale, brewed using hops from New Zealand that produces an aromatic fresh fruity beer.

Salopian Brewery was established at an Old Dairy on the outskirts of the mediaeval town of Shrewsbury in 1995, the plant having been moved from Snowdonia brewery in North Wales. It was then reckoned to have the second smallest brew length in the country for a brewery not attached to a Pub.

So coats on and see you at the Club from 8pm tonight (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday) for a pint of two of winter warmer.

Shepherd Neame Tins' Ale

This week we have got some of Kent's best: Shepherd Neame Tins' Ale (3.7%) as our guest ale - you'll know their 'spitfire' and 'bishops finger' beers - tasty!

Our Club favorite Adnams Lighthouse (3.4%) is also on tap, so put on your coat and get down to the Club from 8pm tonight (Thursday) or from 6.30pm tomorrow (Friday) for our Family Evening.
