The Cornish Session Beer

Well after a week with no Thursday Beer Night because of the Villige Panto, we thought that we'd better get a corker in for this week!

Betty Stogs (4% ABV) is Skinner's best selling beer and has won more national and local awards than any other Cornish beer and is without doubt 'The Queen of Cornish Ales'.

It's an easy drinking, copper ale with a superb balance of citrus hops, malt and bitterness and recently won the CAMRA Gold Award - Champion Beer of Britain in the Best Bitter Category.

Come and sup this Thursday from 8pm

& on Friday from 6.30pm for our monthly FAMILY FUN NIGHT.

However - we are thrilled to report that Social Club Chairman Kevin Feek - (well his wife really) have taken delivery of their second sproglet - Arthur Nicholas Feek, born 20/2 @ 12.23 by Caesarian, 7lb ex! Mum and baby well. Kev is saving-up for a rather large round of drinks next Thursday!

Important Updates and Reminders

FRIDAY 8 FEBRUARY: 

After a packed Family Fun Night last Friday and a very busy Beer Night last night, we have drunk Donald's 'SkinFlint' ale dry - so we have started on a special beer from BELHAVEN called GRAND SLAM (4% ABV), specially brewed for the Six Nations Rugby. It's a light clean & refreshing ale, with a slight bitter edge. 

We hope to see you tonight from 8PM to try it.

THURSDAY 14th FEBRUARY:

We expect this to be a very quiet Beer Night as most of our Thursday regulars are the soft, romantic type and will obviously be elsewhere showering their loved-ones with Valentine's day love and attention. However, if your idea of a Valentine's night is to come out for a drink, with or without someone else, we will be open as usual from 8PM. NOTE: We might close-up a little earlier than normal if it's very quiet. xx

FRIDAY 15th FEBRUARY: 

Don't forget it's the WrenSocial Quiz Night. Nothing serious - just a bit of fun, but Adge & Trev, you're going down this time! We'll be open from 7pm and kick-off the quiz at about 8pm, so don't miss it.

Donald must be buying!

This week we've chosen a special brew in honour of our oldest regular - dear old farmer Donald, in the hope that he pulls his wallet out and gets a round in!

Our guest ale comes from the Wychwood Brewery on Oxfordshire, who make the rather lovely Hobgoblin.

SkinFlint is a dark brown beer brewed with Crystal Malt and Styrian Golding hop.

See you on Thursday and/or Friday from 8pm.

Better bring your wallet though, just in-case!

Any similarity to Donald in the brand name or illustration is purely co-incidental, but quite funny!
